For processing audio, Onkyo TX-SR608 can handle two new surround-sound technologies, the Audyssey DSX and the Dolby Pro Logix IIz. These new audio technologies allow exciting new ways to set your speakers in order to achieve super dramatic and immersing listening experience. Audyssey DSX allows you to incorporate “front wide” speakers replacing the usual surround back speakers, so that you can have expanded width of the soundstage. Dolby Pro Logic IIz can deliver “front height” channels to carry ambient, non-directional audio creating a new vertical dimension in your movies and games.
