Wireless home theater systems have been available for a while now. You may be wondering why you should bother with a wireless system when you can just plug in a wired one. While wireless systems aren’t for everyone, there are some good reasons why your next home theater system should be a wireless one.
- Ease of set-up.
Setting up a wireless home theater system is so much more simple than a wired system. You just plug in your front speakers to the receiver, and find a power plug for your rear speakers. Just turn the system on and it is ready - simple as that. With a wired system, you need to figure out a way to hide the wires to the rear speakers, which can be both challenging and time consuming. Some wireless home theater systems are even easier, requiring no wires at all between the speakers and receivers. - Great for renters
If you are a renter, you are probably quite limited in what you can do to hide your home theater wires. You can maybe hide them under the carpet, but trying to run them through walls or any other major works will probably be frowned upon by your landlord. If you have a wireless home theater system, you need a lot less wires. And if you need to move house, then packing up is a lot simpler when you don’t have to extract wires out of walls. - Use as a second zone
A lot of wireless home theater systems on the market now give you the option of using the rear speakers as a second zone. This means that you can have music going in two different rooms at the same time when you have a party. - Quality
It used to be accepted that buying a wireless system meant sacrificing sound quality. Not any more - unless you are really picky, you won’t be able to tell the difference between a wired and a wireless home theater system. Crackling and hissing used to cause problems, but these have generally been eliminated by improved technology.
Next time you think about buying a new system for your home theater, you should think about a wireless surround sound system. They certainly have a lot of advantages.
